The sheriff’s office patrols a total area of 980 square miles of which 35 square miles is water. The sheriff’s office, as of 2017 estimates, protects 24,515 residents. The Todd County Sheriff’s office is committed to a professional level of Law Enforcement to ensue he safety of the citizens, the prevention and investigation of criminal activity, and a cooperative working relationship with other departments and services of the county. There are 11 full tine deputy sheriff’s and 7 licensed part-time deputy sheriff’s. The office has 2 general investigators and 1 narcotics investigator.

Todd County, Minnesota Jail Information
There are eight jailers who are responsbile for the jail and inmates. The Todd County Detention Center is licensed to hold up to 52 inmates. The Detention Center has four dormitory style cells and four cellblocks that have individual cells. There are also four holding cells, an interview room, a book room, and a room for running breath tests on those arrested for DUI.

Visitors need to sign up for visits 15 minutes before start time. Identification is necessary and each inmate is allowed 20 minutes per visitor.
