Marshall County, Minnesota Information

Marshall County is in the northwest part of Minnesota. As of the 2010 census the population was 9,439 and the county seat is Warren. The Val Johnson incident, a claimed UFO incident, occurred in Marshall County in 1979. The county was founded in 1879 and named for William Rainey Marshall, 4th Governor of Minnesota.

The County is governed by five county commissioners.

Visitation Schedule, Mail, Calls and Funds

Inmates are allowed visitors in the Marshall County Jail between the hours of 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. Visits are also allowed from 2:00 pm j- 4:00 pm on Sunday. Only those over the age of 18 may visit. Contact visits are subject to the sheriff’s approval.

There is an inmate phone system for outgoing calls only. If you want to leave a message for an inmate, call 218—745-6074. The Jail does not accept incoming phone calls.
