The sheriff’s office patrols an area of 3,056 square miles. 551 Square miles is water. Beltrami is the fourth-largest county in Minnesota by area. The Sheriff’s Office also protects approximately 46,106 citizens.
The Sheriff’s Office offers up to 15 – $600 scholarships for students who have completed at least one year of a two year or two years of a four-year program.
Divisions in the sheriff’s office include investigative division, patrol operations, and SWAT team.

Beltrami County, Minnesota Jail Information
The Beltrami County Jail is licensed by the state and regulated by the Minnesota Department of Corrections. The approved capacity for the jail is 140 inmates. The staff at the jail includes four teams consisting of six full-time Corrections Officers, plus twelve part-time corrections officers. The jail is administrated by the jail administrator, assistant jail administrator and a clerical technician. Program staff includes two program directors plus volunteers.
