The sheriff’s office patrols and area of 730 square miles of which 17 square miles is water. It also protects an estimated (2016) population of 18,829. The Sheriff’s Office is open 24/7 and has sever division including Administration, Patrol, Jail, and Communications. The office also has a dive rescue team as well as illegal drug investigations. There are about 33 employees in the sheriff’s office including communications, transport, administration, water patrol and part time deputies.
