Leave yourself plenty of time this morning for your drive to work. Be careful!

Expect a long commute this morning! Snow, sleet, and some freezing rain will reach the metro between 6 and 630 AM. It will last about an hour. Roads will be slick.
The blues/purples in the radar image is snow, while the red is sleet.

Santa's helpers are hard at work here at Washington County Sheriff's Office. Toy marker Phil LaGarde stopped by with hand-made toys and decorations, and Kay Jewelers has donated plush teddy bears. Children who come to visit their parents during the holidays will be able to pick out a toy to take with home with them. Also-thank you to Patti from Oakdale for dropping off the delicious treats for Sheriff's Office employees. Patti wanted to say "thank you" to those who risk their lives each and every day to serve the citizens of Washington County.

Thank You to our Local Prison Partners

On November 30th Sheriff Dan Starry was honored to present Letters of Appreciation to Minnesota Correctional Facilities at Stillwater and Oak Park Heights. Sheriff Starry wanted to acknowledge the collaboration between the prison Special Operation and Response Teams (SORT) and the Jail Emergency Response Teams (ERT) during annual training exercises. The prison and jail teams have worked together at Camp Ripley over the past two years. The prison SORT instructors, led by Lt. Richard Wilson, delivered excellent training and provided strong leadership throughout the exercises. Sheriff Starry also presented American Flags representing the “Thin Silver Line” emphasizing the courage, honor and respect Correctional Officers demonstrate on a daily basis in our jails and prisons across the county.
