WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM SUNDAY TO MIDNIGHT MONDAY NIGHT

*WHAT: Heavey snow expected with blizzard conditions possible. Mixed precipitation possible in northwest Iowa. Travel will be very difficult to impossible, including during the mroning and evening coummutes on Monday. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 14 inches, with localized amounts up to 17 inches are expected. Ice acuumulations up to one tenth are possible in northwest Iowa.

*WHERE: Portions of northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota.

*WHEN: From 6 pm Sunday to midnight CST Monday night.

*Winds gusting as high as 40 mph could cause near blizzard conditions in blowing snow. Significatn drifting of the snow is also expected.

From the National Weather Service... A winter storm WATCH is in effect from late Wednesday night through Thursday afternoon. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 6 inches are POSSIBLE. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph could cause whiteout conditions in blowing show. Significant drifting of the snow is also possoble. Cold wind chills as low as 25 below zero will cause frostbite in as lttle as 30 minutes to exposed skin. Blizzard conditions are possible. Travel could be very difficult to impossible, including during the morning commute on thursday.
