The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department is responsible for enforcement of traffic laws, accident investigations, criminal investigations, crime prevention, boat & water safety and enforcement, completing civil process papers along with many additional services. There have been several reports of vehicles that were rummaged through in Ivanhoe last night. Property was stolen in several of these cases. The Ivanhoe Police Department and Lincoln County Sheriff's Department strongly urge you to LOCK YOUR VEHICLES at night and never leave valuable property inside. These reports are currently under investigation

Sheriff's Report July 8 through August 2

July 8

At 10:24 a.m., received a report of some vandalism in Hendricks. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the matter.

July 9

At 1:33 a.m., received a report of a single-vehicle accident in Hansonville Township. The driver of the vehicle was taken to the Hendricks Hospital and treated for unknown injuries. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

At 1:48 p.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report of some vandalism in Tyler. The Tyler Police Department responded to the scene and is examining the situation.

July 10

At 1:37 p.m., 64-year-old Terry Alan Garritsen of Lake Benton was arrested in Lake Benton after a warrant was issued for a previous incident. The Lake Benton Police Department was the arresting agency.

July 11

At 6:04 p.m., received a report of a vehicle that hit a cow in Hendricks Township. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene. All occupants of the vehicle were uninjured and the owners of the cow were notified.

At 6:59 p.m., 41-year-old Stefanus Petrus Bekker of Lake Benton was stopped in Lake Benton and issued a citation for speed and not having an Interlock system in the vehicle.

July 13

At 9:41 a.m., 33-year-old Benjamin Joseph Skalicky of Forest Lake was stopped in Lake Benton and issued a citation for speed.

At 5:48 p.m., 33-year-old Jonathan Daren Dollar of Edmond, Oklahoma was stopped in Hendricks Township and issued a citation for speed.

At 6:32 p.m., 39-year-old Nicole Lee Slegers of Lake Benton was stopped in Lake Benton and issued a citation for speed.

At 7:55 p.m., received a report of an argument in Hendricks. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded and the issue was resolved.

At 9:50 p.m., 26-year-old Seth Thomas Hoscheit of New Ulm was stopped in Lake Benton and issued a citation for speed.

At 9:53 p.m., received a report of a domestic dispute in Wilno. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded and handled the incident.

At 11:23 p.m., officers with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office advised they were in pursuit of a vehicle in Verdi Township. The vehicle came to a stop when the driver, 44-year-old Byron Donley Ellefsen of Lake Benton, reached his residence and he was later arrested and charged in the matter.

July 15

At 9:15 a.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report of some damage to property in Tyler. The Tyler Police Department responded and is investigating the matter.

July 16

At 4:39 p.m., 27-year-old Joshua Thomas Brower of White Bear Lake was stopped in Tyler and issued an administrative citation for speed.

July 17

At 11:10 p.m., received a report of some suspicious activity in Ivanhoe. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded and handled the matter.

July 20

At 7:06 p.m., 38-year-old Daddychaher Chang of Ramsey was stopped in Tyler and issued an administrative citation for speed.

At 8:06 p.m., received a report of a possible domestic dispute in Ivanhoe. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded and the matter was resolved.

July 21

At 2:37 p.m., received a report of a single-vehicle accident in Ivanhoe. The Ivanhoe Ambulance, Ivanhoe Fire Department, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Ivanhoe Police Department responded to the scene. The driver of the vehicle was taken by ambulance to the Hendricks Hospital where she was treated for unknown injuries. The accident is currently under investigation.

At 4:05 p.m., 37-year-old Robert Edward Wolf of Burnsville was stopped in Tyler and issued an administrative citation for speed.

At 7:52 p.m., 18-year-old Nichole Rae Marie Jones of Lake Benton was stopped in Tyler and issued a citation for a stop sign violation.

July 22

At 12:58 a.m., 46-year-old Darin Lee Dahle of Sioux Falls, South Dakota was stopped by the Minnesota State Patrol near Lake Benton. He was arrested and charged with DWI and later booked into the Lincoln County Jail.

At 7:06 p.m., a Lake Benton officer stopped a vehicle in Lake Benton. As a result of the stop, a passenger, 36-year-old Brock John VanBinsbergen, was issued a citation for open container.

July 23

At 1:02 a.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a noise complaint in the City of Lake Benton. The Lake Benton Police Department responded and the matter was resolved.

At 11:15 a.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft in Hendricks. The matter is currently under investigation.

At 11:59 a.m., 65-year-old Richard Henry Peterson of Brookings, South Dakota was stopped in Hendricks Township and issued a citation for speed.

At 1:31 p.m., received a report of a theft in Hendricks. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident.

At 10:33 p.m., received a report of some suspicious activity in Tyler. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded but the matter was unfounded.

July 24

At 8:16 a.m., received a report of a theft in Tyler. The Tyler Police Department is investigating the matter.

At 10:35 a.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report of some harassing communications in Hendricks. The matter is under investigation.

At 6:13 p.m., 29-year-old Amanda Marie Heath of Lake Benton was stopped in Lake Benton and issued a citation for no child restraint and no Minnesota driver’s license.

July 25

At 6:57 p.m., received a report of a two-vehicle accident in Hendricks. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and handled the incident. There were no injuries.

July 26

At 5:41 p.m., 31-year-old Jessica Rae Rue of Plymouth was stopped in Tyler and issued an administrative citation for speed.

July 27

At 8:59 a.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a theft in Lake Benton. The Lake Benton Police Department is investigating the matter.

At 11:18 a.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report of some vandalism in Tyler. The Tyler Police Department is investigating.

At 8:41 p.m., 41-year-old Sarah Leona Richter of Hendricks was arrested in Tyler on a warrant for failing to appear in court for other charges. The Tyler Police Department and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office were the responding agencies.

July 28

At 9:29 a.m., received a report of a single-vehicle accident in Hendricks Township. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Hendricks Fire Department, Ivanhoe Ambulance and Minnesota State Patrol responded to the scene. The driver was taken by ambulance to the Hendricks Hospital and treated for unknown injuries.

July 29

At 5:26 p.m., 31-year-old Jonathan Lee Steenstra of Lake Benton was stopped in Lake Benton. He was arrested and charged with driving after cancellation, IPS (inimical to public safety).

At 10:22 p.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen animal from the fair Tyler. The Tyler Police Department responded and the incident was resolved. The animal was returned safely to its owner.

At 12:31 p.m., received a report of a two-vehicle accident in Hendricks. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol responded to the scene. There were no injuries.

August 1

At 10:47 a.m., received a report of a two-vehicle accident in Marble Township. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota State Patrol responded to the incident. Unknown injuries.

At 7:12 p.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report of some vandalism in Lake Benton. The Lake Benton Police Department is currently investigating the situation.

August 2

At 8:48 a.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a vandalism in Tyler. The Tyler Police Department is investigating the matter.

At 1:45 p.m., received a report of a fire that had spread into a barn in Drammen Township. The Lake Benton Fire Department, Lake Benton First Responders and Hendricks Ambulance responded to the scene and the fire was extinguished. There were no injuries.

At 6:25 p.m., 24-year-old Roman Degaona-Marquez of Sioux Falls, South Dakota was stopped in Hendricks Township and issued a citation for no Minnesota driver’s license.

At 7:43 p.m., 38-year-old Tara Lee Post of Tyler was stopped in Tyler and issued a citation for driving after revocation.

At 7:54 p.m., 46-year-old Duane Gaylord LaPlante of Clark, South Dakota was stopped in Shaokatan Township and issued a citation for speed.
