PRESS RELEASE

On May 5th, 2018, Le Sueur County Sheriff Deputy Herbert Moon participated in the New Prague ½ Marathon. Deputy Moon participated in this event as part of a fundraiser initiated by the Sheriff’s Youth Project of Le Sueur County. Deputy Moon competed and finished the event racing in full uniform and duty gear. As part of the fundraiser, The Sheriff’s Youth Project provided a donation of $5000.00 to the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office Dare Program on Deputy Moon’s behalf.

The Sheriff’s Youth Project of Le Sueur County is a 501 c 3 not-for-profit organization that strives to provide opportunities for the youth in the community.

Last week Le Sueur County Sheriff Brett Mason and Honorable Judge Mark Vandelist presented awards to 13 Eighth Grade students from Cleveland, TCU-Le Center, Most Holy Redeemer and Waterville-Elysian-Morristown schools.

These individuals participated in a Distracted Driving Slogan/Art Contest that was put on by The Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office, The Sheriff’s Youth Project of Le Sueur County, Honorable Judge Mark Vandelist, Le Sueur County Victim Witness and Minnesotans for Safe Driving to help raise awareness concerning Distracted Driving.
