Check out the attached information on Text to 911 for Minnesota residents. At this time, there are several primary dispatch centers who have full capability to receive text messages. Dakota Communications Center, which handles all 911 calls for our county, is not yet set up to receive text messages directly. Texts within Dakota County will be sent to the Hennepin County Dispatch Center who will then relay the information to our dispatch center.

Calling 911 is the preferred method, so call if you can and text if you can't.

Thanks to our partners at the Rosemount Police Department for again including us in their Shop with a Cop event. Over the course of 4 hours, our deputies were privileged to hang out with and get to know some great kids as they shopped and wrapped gifts for their families. We hope all of them have a great holiday season!
