Carver County Minnesota Public Records

Carver County is located in the state of Minnesota, the county was formed in February 20, 1855 and named after Jonathan Carver, an explorer who in 1766-67, traveled from Boston to the Minnesota River, and wintered among the Sioux near the site of New Ulm. Chaska is the largest city in the county and also the county seat. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a population of approximately 91,042 people and a total area of 376 square miles (970 km2), of which 22 square miles (57 km2) (5.8%) is water and 354 square miles (920 km2) is land. This makes Carver County the third-smallest county in Minnesota by total area and the second-smallest by land area. The county has a number of cities which include: Carver, Chanhassen, Chaska, Cologne, Hamburg, Mayer, New Germany, Norwood Young America, Victoria, Waconia and Watertown. Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge is the only National protected area in the county.

Carver County borders the following counties: Wright County to the north, Hennepin County to the northeast, Scott County to the southeast, Sibley County to the southwest and McLeod County to the west. The county has a number of highways which include: U.S. Highway 212, Minnesota State Highway 5, Minnesota State Highway 7, Minnesota State Highway 25, Minnesota State Highway 41 and Minnesota State Highway 284.
